Student Producer,
Brite Winter Music Festival

My sophomore year I worked with Brite Winter, a Cleveland-based music festival featuring mostly independent artists in a variety of genres ranging from local to national in popularity. Brite Winter is also known for its collaboration with Ingenuity Cleveland in creating immersive visual art installments throughout the festival. I served as a student producer alongside a team of arts management students, and I was focused in the areas of marketing and music.

Event Planning

One of the first projects I was tasked with was reviewing artists and bands for the 2020 festival lineup. I was assigned 36 candidates to review based on talent, performance experience, popularity, and whether or not they fit Brite Winter's brand. I also looked at their presence online to see how well each candidate developed their brand through a website and/or social media, and how large their following was on these platforms. After I completed my individual reviews, I attended group reviews with the rest of the Brite Winter team to determine the final lineup.

Content Creation

Leading up to the festival, I created an array of promotional content for not only the festival, but preceding fundraising events as well. One such event was called S'morefest for which I created a poster that I printed and distributed across my college campus and throughout the community at targeted locations. I also created graphics for several artists to share on their social media with their name, the name of the stage where they would perform at the festival, and the time of their performance using Adobe Photoshop.

Copy Writing

Not all of the content I created was promotional. I also wrote two articles featured on Brite Winter's website about artists who were new to Brite Winter's lineup in 2020 and artists who were coming in from out of town for the festival. I also helped write artist bios used on the website and other festival materials.

Live Event Coverage

On the day of the festival I co-managed Brite Winter's social media. I provided updates about where artists were performing at different times, I engaged attendees by posing them with our mascot Fluri and encouraging them to try different activities for our social media, and I monitored notifications to repost content shared by attendees of them enjoying the festival. In adI also escorted performers to and from the artist lounge and helped them prep the stage before their set.
